Naturhotel Forsthofgut: A Blend of Rustic Charm and Modern Luxury

Tucked away in the picturesque Leoganger Steinberge, the Naturhotel Forsthofgut has transformed from a modest family hotel into a stunning holiday destination. Under the innovative leadership of Christoph and Christina Schmuck, this former farmstead, with its mere 20 rooms and 24 staff members, has been reimagined into a serene and energizing retreat, offering a unique blend of rustic charm and modern luxury.

The Essence of Forsthofgut: Comfort and Nature Intertwined

The Forsthofgut’s current incarnation boasts 109 guest rooms and three spacious new garden loft suites. True to its roots, the hotel maintains a strong connection to its pastoral past while embracing contemporary comforts. The addition of half-board service, featuring a breakfast and a delectable five-course dinner, emphasizes the hotel’s commitment to regional cuisine.

A Gateway to Nature

Guests are greeted with a special touch – a backpack in every wardrobe, encouraging exploration of the surrounding mountains and nature. The remnants of the former farm are still tangible, with guests invited to join in the deer feeding, a unique experience led by the hotelier himself. And for winter enthusiasts, the hotel’s prime location offers direct access to the ski slopes.

Wellness Redefined: The WaldSpa Seehaus

In May 2021, the hotel unveiled its latest marvel: the WaldSpa Seehaus. This new annex, constructed with light wood and encircling the bio lake, introduces an exquisite wellness landscape. It features a Japanese Onsen bath, heated to 42 degrees Celsius, and new relaxation rooms adorned with cozy sofa landscapes. The outdoor area includes sun loungers, a 32-degree Celsius infinity pool, and a natural plunge pool in the bio lake.

For the Ultimate Retreat: The New Garden Loft Suites

The three new garden loft suites, each spanning 140 square meters with an additional 56-square-meter outdoor loggia, offer a minimalist design with abundant natural wood, a private sauna, fireplace, and expansive space. These suites are perfect for those seeking immersion in this serene resort setting.

Culinary Delights: Mizümi Japanese Restaurant

Adding to the hotel’s culinary offerings, the Mizümi Japanese restaurant, housed in the garden building, provides an authentic dining experience. Not limited to sushi, it offers a variety of Japanese grilled dishes, baked goods, and ramen. The open kitchen concept allows guests to watch the two Japanese sushi masters at work, creating an interactive and family-friendly atmosphere.

Family and Children’s Amenities

Families are a common sight at Forsthofgut, with a dedicated swimming area for children in the main building, both indoor and outdoor pools, and a newly designed area in winter 2021. The Kids Club offers professional supervision and numerous playrooms, ensuring a family-friendly environment throughout the hotel.

Wellness Oasis

Spanning 5,800 square meters, the wellness landscape includes a new garden area with an Onsen pool, infinity pool, bio lake, and treatment rooms. The other side of the garden hosts a wellness tract inaugurated in 2018, featuring a heated 25-meter outdoor pool, a whirlpool, panorama sauna, TechnoGym-equipped fitness room, yoga room, steam bath, and discreetly designed relaxation rooms.

Culinary Excellence:

The hotel’s fine dining restaurant, “echt. gut essen.,” allows guests to observe Chef Michael Helfrich preparing upscale dishes, integrating culinary art into the guest experience.

Ideal for Families Seeking Mountain Escapes

Naturhotel Forsthofgut is perfect for families looking for a carefree mountain vacation. It combines the convenience of modern amenities with the charm of a former forestry operation.
